Welcome to ECHALK 2.0 and beyond

Bah!!
I've been banished to the shed for construction work :o)
The downside of this is that it has been too hot for construction .... so I've been concentrating on the instrument panels. The monitor side of things is sweet, thanks to echalk :o) I will probably run the following set up

19" 21" 21" 19" For the main view and scenery
17" 19"sideways 17" For the instruments

I have been concentrating on the design phase for the MIP. I'll probably cut it from 3mm MDF and paint it. Whatever lettering solution I eventually go with can be applied to this. I haven't been happy with any of the lettering solutions I've tried so far. I had thought that vinyl lettering would do the trick, but no-one can cut them small enough. The letters are only 4mm or so high. I tried white lettering on clear adhesive tape, but it looked dreadful. So I've decided that the best solution will be to use Adobe Illustrator and make all the panels myself and print them onto white card. This can be fixed to 3mm MDF and perhaps covered with laquer or contact to strengthen it. I'm still experimenting. I'm rusty with Illustrator, but I still managed to knock up this panel in an hour or so.

I'm quite happy with it. I'll probably do them all and them archive them as AI or PDF files for others to use.

More Later
