Great idea! Getting hold of ECU library course people will be easy, i'm less sure about Curtin. I suppose I could look up the email addresses of the relevant people at all the unis and contact them once we get organised. I always said you were a genius!

You seem to be appearing as a friend on my page now, so I don't know if it has fixed itself or what?

BTW, is the message function thingy usually reliable, and can I see what I have previously sent if I didn't have the foresight to save it when it asked? I should have just saved a copy :(

How random is that? I have machinations which I wish to involve you with by the way...

Hi again Jean
Thanks for visiting the blog and leaving comments for the kids. I have approved them tonight so they will read them in the next day or so when they get to the computers again.

Thanks Jean.
Some of the kids have started to post and you can find their posts by clicking on names in the right hand margin. Usually I post on the main page although if we have a special project we're working on I choose some students to write up the activity or some will volunteer. I started blogging with my class halfway through last year but none of this class have blogged before. It will be a couple more weeks before we get much on the blog as w are involved in the es1001 Tales collaborative project at the moment.

Yes, great move, Jean. And as I said, I'm open to change my mind about Marc Prensky. He could have been tired for the workshop I attended last year. Just wish he didn't make such sweeping generalisations.
We seem to be on the same page re encyclopaedias and so-called "information literacy"!

Hi Jean.
When I get a decent photo, I'll learn how to add it to my page!
I see you have a link to Marc Prensky. I'm afraid I'm not a fan of his - especiallly after going to a workshop run by him last year. I found him to be patronising to all present and we came away having learned nothing - except that Prensky isn't the "guru" he purports to be. His assertions are usually not backed up with credible research either. Anyway, I'm open to change my mind!

Do you want to keep your eye on this chat issue. Looks like the best solution is if ning do the development and embedding.

Thanks for the invite I found it hiding in my junkmail folder. I like the idea of a shechalk group. I'm still finding my way around at the moment but it all looks very interesting.

Something other than Google...

Don't get me wrong - I do use and appreciate Google search - I guess it's the librarian in me that makes me wish people would take the time to explore some alternatives. Depending on what you are looking for there are smarter ways to search.

Librarians are usually very busy at the start of the year trying to find the resources that teachers need to support their classroom programs. Finding that elusive site, document, learning object... can be made easier by using the right tool. Here a… Continue
