Hi Cathy
The Prensky information appears in my page on this ning via the rss feed from the CMIS Technology Focus blog The article itself is current (Feb 2008) and offers an easy to read overview which may be useful for some readers. I wanted to demonstrate how a blog, with rss capabilities can be used to draw users into pages buried deep in the DEWTA website.
Some of the teachers I spoke to enjoyed the Prensky workshops. I guess it's up to the individual.
Am currently reading an advance copy (one of the perks of my job!) of Ilana Snyder's "The Literacy Wars: Why teaching children to read and write is a battleground in Australia", which is to be published tomorrow. Recommended reading for all education stakeholders - which is pretty much everyone, isn't it? Can't say more until after publication.
I hope you find the echalk experience intellectually challenging and you challenge us as well.
Regards
Mike
